About The BC Rockies

The BC Rockies played their first game as a provincial deaf team in 2006 at the 6th Canadian deaf Ice Hockey Championships in Calgary, Alberta, placing 3rd and winning a bronze medal. In 2008 the BC Rockies officially formed a club (BC Rockies Deaf Ice Hockey Club) under the affiliation with BC Deaf Sports Federation. With over 40 deaf and hard of hearing hockey atheletes wanting to play, it made sense to become a club.

In the years before 2006, the BC players combined with Alberta, Manitoba or Saskatchewan to form a Western Prairies team in past tournaments. On average there were about 6 players from BC at this time. With the recent exposure of the club, the numbers have jumped exponentially.

The BC Rockies are always looking to grow their team through new players, sponsorship and donations. Contact us to become a part of the BC Rockies Deaf Ice Hockey Club legacy today.
